Your Task: Plan and create an evening newscast for your ecosystem.
The newscast must show your knowledge of ecosystems; the occupants, resources available, their internal dynamics (e.g. who
eats whom?), community issues, and their relationships with humans. The newscast will include the:
1. News Headline Stories
2. Weather
3. Sports
4. Entertainment.
5. Commercials
Have fun, with creative, innovative stories that depict typical life
in your ecosystem. Mimic some of the things usually found in a newscast, such as the headline news (Amoeba Escapes
from Daphnia's Clutches -- Arnold Amoeba almost eaten by Derek Daphnia. Daphnia, age 12 minutes, has been charged and
taken into custody by the pond police dept.); the sports (in the forest, bears playing "football" with a cooler
taken from a careless camper); and entertainment (Now playing at the local cinema: Terminator 27: The Bulldozer- the
tale of apocalypse in the pond as The Bulldozer threatens to fill in the pond to make room for a housing development by humans.).
Check out the news for the next week. See how they produce the
show. Your newscast will be a presentation made to your classmates and teacher. You will use Microsoft Power Point to aid with your backdrops; images cues, pictures, and support information.
